Town of Ancram Public Notice – Planning Board Alternate Members: The Ancram Town Board seeks applicants whose primary residence and voting site is in the Town of Ancram to serve on the Ancram Planning Board as alternate members.  The term of office is five years.  All board member training and other requirements apply to alternate members. Applicants with land use planning experience, familiarity with site plans, engineering and architectural drawings and scales, or experience in agriculture, the construction industry, or the construction design profession, will be given preference. As an alternate, you will attend all Planning Board meetings, which are held on the first Thursday of each month, and you may participate in Planning Board deliberations, but may not vote unless you are designated to replace a regular Planning Board member because of conflicts of interest requiring their recusal. As an alternate, you may be given preferential consideration for appointment to the Planning Board as a regular member in the event of Planning Board member resignations. To be considered for an appointment as an alternate, please send your resume and an email outlining your background and experience in land use planning and zoning to Ancram Town Supervisor Art Bassin at abassin@ancramny.org no later than Saturday, January 21, 2023. Applicants will be interviewed by the Planning Board, which will recommend two candidates for appointment by the Ancram Town Board.

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT TAKE NOTICE, that I Monica Cleveland, the undersigned Collector of Taxes of the Town of Ancram, County of Columbia, have duly received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Ancram for the year 2023, and that I will attend the Ancram Town Hall, 1416 County Route 7, in the said Town of Ancram Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s 10:00am to 2:00pm and 9:30 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday’s, during the month of January for the purpose of collecting taxes. TAKE FURTHUR NOTICE, that taxes may be paid on or before January 31, 2023 without charge or interest. On all taxes received after such date, there shall be added interest of 1% if paid on or before February 28, 2023 and an additional 1% for each additional month until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the county treasurer pursuant to law. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town of Ancram Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the public hearing will be a hybrid public hearing accessible both in-person and via Zoom. The public hearing will take place at the aforementioned date and time: (1) at an in-person meeting of the Planning Board to be held at the Ancram Town Hall, located at 1416 County Route 7 Ancram, New York 12502; and (2) at the same date and time via Zoom. ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE ANCRAM FIRE DISTRICT

On December 13, 2022.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Annual Election of the Ancram Fire District will take place on the 13th day of December 2022 at the Ancram Fire District Fire House located at 1306 County Route 7, Town of Ancram, Columbia County, New York, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing One (1) Fire Commissioner for a Five (5) year term, commencing on January 1, 2023 and ending on December 31, 2027. All voters registered with the Columbia County Board of Elections on or before November 22, 2022 shall be eligible to vote.

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the candidate for a Fire District Office must file their name with the Secretary of the Ancram Fire District and shall file his/her name and the office for which he/she is a candidate with the undersigned Secretary of the Ancram Fire District at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of such election.
