Tuesdays from 5:00- 7:00PM or by appointment. Note that most inquiries can be handled via phone call.
Outside of office hours, please call (518) 329-6512 ext. 211 and leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. Please note that the Court Clerk cannot provide legal advice.
Court Hours: Vehicle and traffic cases and criminal matters are heard on the fourth Wednesday of every month starting at 6PM. Requests for adjournment should be made 7 days in advance of a scheduled court date.

Traffic Violations:
If you have received a traffic ticket, please sign the appropriate plea section on the right hand side of the ticket and MAIL it back to the Court by the date indicated near the bottom left side of your ticket. This is not a court date and you do not need to appear on that date.
If you have entered a NOT GUILTY plea, the Court will notify you by mail of your court date and the options available to you. You MAY choose to initiate plea negotiations online with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office. Information explaining how to apply for a reduced charge to a traffic offense can be found at: http://www.columbiacountyny.com/trafficticket.html.
If you have entered a GUILTY plea to the original traffic charge, or pled guilty to a reduced charge pursuant to a plea agreement, the Court will inform you by letter as to the fine imposed. Note that plea agreements must be approved by the Court. If you wish to be heard before the Court imposes a fine, please indicate that when you submit your guilty plea. The Court will notify you of your appearance date, at which time you or your counsel may make any arguments relevant to the fine. Please note that when you plead guilty to the charge stated on your ticket, the Court cannot reduce your charge or any possible points associated with it.
Please Note:
If your ticket was issued on the Taconic Parkway in the Town of Gallatin, it is under the jurisdiction of the Gallatin Town Court. The Gallatin Court Clerk can be reached at (518) 398-7690.
If your ticket was issued on the Taconic Parkway in the Town of Taghkanic, it is under the jurisdiction of the Taghanic Town Court. The Taghkanic Court Clerk can be reached at (518) 329-3030.
