Boy Scout Holiday Wreath Sale!

ANNUAL HOLIDAY WREATH SALE

 

 

Yes, It’s that time of year again!!

Rhinebeck Boy Scout Troop #128 is once again selling holiday wreaths.

 

12 Inch wreaths with decorations $15

16 Inch wreaths with decorations $20

 

All wreaths are decorated by the Scouts and their parents. The pine cones are locally sourced.

 

All proceeds from the sales are put toward troop activities.

 

This year the boys attended summer camp in the

Adirondacks as well as took part in a week of Leadership training in August and a camping experience at the Maritime College.

 

Funding from fund raisers like this one help to fund experiences for all of the scouts. We thank you in advance for your support.

We plan on having pickup the Saturday following Thanksgiving, November 26, 2022, at the Ancramdale Presbyterian Church, Ancramdale NY.

FALL 2022 COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY

When: Saturday, September 17 from 9 am to 12 pm, rain or shine.

Where: Ancram Town Garage, 32 Maple Lane, Ancramdale.

Price of Admission: A donation of a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.

What you can bring: furniture, appliances, metal, glass, pots, pans, TVs, computers, computer screens, electronics, batteries, tires off their rims – $2; tires on rims – $5; rims without their tires are free; large tractor or truck tires – $25.

What you cannot bring to Community Cleanup Day: garbage, paint, paint cans, oil, oil cans or barrels, chemicals, fertilizer or pesticides or their containers, hazardous materials of any kind, brush, construction debris; mattresses, box springs, sofas, upholstered chairs.

Mattresses, box springs, sofas & upholstered chairs can be taken to the County Transfer Station on Route 23b in Greenport. All mattresses, box springs, sofas & upholstered chairs are are $10 each. Sectional sofas are $15. But prices might change so check the County Solid Waste Department website for full list of prices and operating hours here:

Latex paint: You may dispose of latex paint (which is water based) in your regular household garbage provided the liquid inside of the can is dry. This can be accomplished by adding shredded newspaper, sand or kitty litter to latex paint and letting it air dry (as per NYSDEC).

Ancram Kids Camp and Pool Will be Open in 2022

The Town of Ancram plans to run the Ancram Kids Camp and open the town pool in 2022 as long as Covid-19 remains under control and we can meet the County and State Health Departments requirements for camps and pools.

Here are links to the information you need to enroll your children in the 2022 Ancram Summer Camp:

Some key things to keep in mind:

  1. Applications may be submitted until June 10th. Hard copy applications only, no emails please.

While Town Hall will be closed until Tuesday 4/19 because of the Easter Holiday, you can pickup a hard copy application at Town Hall – there is a supply of applications in a small plastic box by the door to Town Hall from the parking lot.

  1. You should return the application forms, signed waiver, copy of current physical and immunizations. Keep the other items for your future reference.
  2. Camp is free for kids and grandkids of Ancram/Ancramdale/Boston Corners residents, and $75 a week for non-resident children.
  3. Only 60 kids will be accepted for camp this year, (total of 10 campers under the age of 6) and Ancram kids will have first preference.
  4. Kids from 4 to 12 will be eligible for camp. 4 year olds need proof of attending a year of preschool or daycare.
  5. Campers may not use electronic devices at Camp or the Pool
  6. Parents are required to attend an orientation for meet & greet 6/18 from 10am-11am. (in-person or virtually)
  7. Tax deductible donations to help support the Kids Camp and Pool are welcome. Send your donation to:

Ancram is Looking for a Kids Camp Director

The Town of Ancram is looking for a Camp Director to organize and run the 2022 Ancram Kids Camp.

The Camp Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Kids Camp including coordinating with the County Health Department, meeting the requirements of the NYS Health Department, coordinating with the Pool Manager and Head Lifeguard for camper access to the town pool, planning and scheduling Camp activities, hiring Camp counselors, making arrangements for field trips, securing the necessary tents, tables, and chairs for Camp, arranging for medical support for the Camp and developing a written safety plan.

NYS requires that Camp Directors have a Bachelor’s Degree or be at least 21 years old, and have at least 24 weeks of administrative or supervising experience in camping.

The Ancram Kids Camp normally accepts 40-50 children between the ages of 6 to 12, and requires a staff of up to 10 camp counselors.

Camp will run for 6 weeks in July and August. Planning for Camp will start in April.
