Town of Ancram Job Opportunity – The Town of Ancram is looking for a part time Deputy Clerk for the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) Clerk. Prior Planning Board or ZBA clerking experience a plus but not essential. Compensation will be between $18 and $19 per hour depending on your experience. Normal work schedule will be 5-8 hours a week. ANCRAM HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT JOB POSTING
The Town of Ancram Highway Department will be accepting applications for the position of Part Time CDL Class B driver. Duties will include delivering materials including gravel and blacktop to job sites on an “as needed basis”. Minimum CDL Class B drivers license required. Applications may be picked up at the office of the Highway Superintendent at 32 Maple Lane, Ancramdale, NY 12503 between the hours of 7 am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Bids will be accepted at the office of the Highway Superintendent, 32 Maple Lane, Ancramdale NY 12503 until 3:30 January 5, 2021. Bids will be opened at the Town Clerks office, 1416 Couty Route 7 Ancram NY 12502, at 11am on January 6, 2021. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Ancram Town Hall is closed to the public. If you wish to attend the bid openings, please contact the Highway Superintendent at 518-329-0962 to make an appointment. All safety precautions will need to be adhered to including masks, temperature check and health screening questions. Bids will be approved or rejected at the Ancram Town Board Organization meeting via Zoom on January 7, 2021 at 7pm.
Bids will be effective one year starting January 1, 2021 theought December 31, 2021. All bids must be accompanied with a letter of non collusion.

Roeliff Jansen Community Library is now home to a dual-port electric vehicle charging station
New York’s Roeliff Jansen Community Library is now home to a dual-port electric vehicle charging station, which can charge up to two cars at a time.
A reflection of the Roeliff Jansen Community Library’s commitment to sustainability, the library installed the charging station as part of its parking lot repaving project. The new charging station is made possible by support from New York State’s Charge Ready NY program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). It is located near the library’s front entrance and electric car owners can use the charging station at a rate of $0.35 per kilowatt hour.
Launched by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo in 2018, Charge Ready NY provides $4,000 per vehicle charging port for public or private employers, building owners, municipalities and non-profit organizations to install Level 2 charging stations. NYSERDA is providing $17 million for this initiative for a total of 4,250 new charging ports throughout the state.
This effort complements New York State’s national-leading climate and clean energy goals as outlined in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act to lower greenhouse gas emissions 85 percent by 2050. Charge Ready NY works together with other programs, such as the “Make-Ready” Program to amplify the number of charging stations statewide to 50,000 and connect access to meet New York’s goal of deploying 850,000 zero-emission vehicles by the end of 2025.

ROAD WORK ON SAWCHUK RD
A MESSAGE FROM HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT JIM MILLER: ROAD WORK ON SAWCHUK RD
The week of 6/22 we are going to be repaving Sawchuk Road from the intersection of County Route 8 and Pulver Rd to the town and county line.
During the hours of 7am to approximately 4 pm the road will be closed to all except emergency vehicles and residents of Sawchuk Rd. Any through traffic can use Pulver Rd to Winchell Mt Rd as an alternate route. Also we ask that any residents of Carson Road to please use Rt 22 as an alternate route.
The project is expected to last 3 days and as always weather permitting. We are going to be doing the work in house, with assistance from neighboring towns rather than using an outside contractor. This is the reason the project may take a little longer than usual.
