PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town of Ancram Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 7:05 p.m or shortly thereafter.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the public hearing will be a hybrid public hearing accessible both in-person and via Zoom. The public hearing will take place at the aforementioned date and time: (1) at an in-person meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals to be held at the Ancram Town Hall, located at 1416 County Route 7 Ancram, New York 12502; and (2) at the same date and time via Zoom. (Zoom access information below). Verbal comments may be offered to the Zoning Board of Appeals by the public via the Zoom access.

Under consideration is an application for Subdivision and Abbreviated Site Plan Review on parcel ID #221.-1-21, owned by Faye Robinson Auld, the parcel is located at 238 Crest Lane, Ancramdale, NY 12503. The Applicant seeks a subdivision creating two (2) lots and Abbreviated Site Plan Review for a proposed Single Family Residence.

Paving Roadwork on Long Lake Rd. & Lake Shore Drive

Notice from Jim Miller Highway Dept. re: paving Long Lake Road & Lake Shore Drive extension Wed. Sept 11:

They will be starting on the end of Lake Shore and working out towards the loop. Anyone needing to exit lake shore dr before 9 am should plan on doing so before 7am as egress won’t be possible until they reach the loop.
After they reach the loop traffic will be able to go one way or the other depending where the equipment is.
The only delays will be until the roller completes compaction. After that it can be driven on.

When: Saturday, September 14

from 9 am to 12 pm

Rain or shine.

Where: Ancram Town Garage

32 Maple Lane, Ancramdale

 

Price of Admission: A donation of a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.

What you can bring: furniture, appliances, metal, glass, pots, pans, TVs, computers, computer screens, electronics, car batteries, tires off their rims – $3.50; tires on rims – $6; rims without their tires are free; large and super single truck tires – $25.

All tires must be clean with no dirt or they will be refused. 

What you cannot bring to Community Cleanup Day: garbage, paint, paint cans, oil, oil cans or barrels, chemicals, fertilizer or pesticides or their containers, hazardous materials of any kind, brush, construction debris; mattresses, box springs, sofas, upholstered chairs, lithium batteries, tractor tires.

Mattresses, box springs, sofas & upholstered chairs can be taken to the County Transfer Station on Route 23b in Greenport. All mattresses, box springs, sofas & upholstered chairs are are $10 each. Sectional sofas are $15. But prices might change so check the County Solid Waste Department website for full list of prices and operating hours here:

Latex paint: You may dispose of latex paint (which is water based) in your regular household garbage provided the liquid inside of the can is dry. This can be accomplished by adding shredded newspaper, sand or kitty litter to latex paint and letting it air dry (as per NYSDEC).
