Town of Ancram Public Notice
Zoning Board of Appeals Second Alternate
The Ancram Town Board seeks applicants who are residents of the Town of Ancram to serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals as the second alternate member.
The Ancram Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meets on the last Monday of each month on an “as needed” basis.”
The ZBA has the authority to hear and decide appeals from decisions of Town officials charged with the enforcement of the zoning ordinances of the Town, to interpret the zoning ordinances and to grant Area and Use Variances, as well as add stipulations to such variances.
The term of office is five years.
All ZBA member training and other requirements also apply to alternate members.
As the second alternate, you will attend all ZBA meetings, and you may participate in ZBA deliberations, but may not vote unless a regular ZBA member and the first alternate are unable to serve because of conflicts of interest requiring their recusal.
As the second alternate, you will be given preferential consideration for appointment to the ZBA as a regular member in the event of ZBA member resignations requiring both the first and second alternates to be appointed to the ZBA.
To be considered for an appointment as the second alternate, please send your resume and an email outlining your background and interest in serving to Ancram Town Supervisor Art Bassin at email@example.com no later than Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Applicants will be interviewed by members of the ZBA, which will recommend a candidate for appointment by the Ancram Town Board.
