Public Hearing – 10/23/2010
The Town Board of the Town Of Ancram will hold a Public Hearing On Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 8:30am. The purpose of this Public Hearing is to solicit public comment and discuss the 2011 Tentative Town of Ancram Budget.
The Budget can be viewed at the Town Clerk’s office during the following hours: Wednesday and Thursday 10:00am to 2:00pm and Saturdays 9:30 am to 12:00noon. The public hearing will take place at the Ancram Town Hall, 1416 County Route 7, Ancram, NY 12502.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION, REGISTRATION OF VOTERS & AVAILABILITY OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS
A Special Election will be held on August 21, 2010, for the Town of Ancram, Columbia County, New York, which will be held at the Ancram Town Hall, Ancram, New York, which polling place shall be the polling place for the entire Town of Ancram for such Special Election at which the polls will be kept open between the hours of 2 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., prevailing time for the purpose of voting on the adoption or rejection of a proposition with respect to Bond Resolution dated July 2, 2010. The polls will be kept open for the purpose of voting during the aforesaid hours and the proposition voted upon will be in substantially the following form, to wit:

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN, that persons qualified to vote at the Special Election shall be registered voters of the Town of Ancram, Columbia County, New York who shall have resided in the Town of Ancram for the period of thirty (30) days next preceding such election.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN, that personal registration is required and no voter shall be entitled to vote at said Special Election unless his or her name appears on the Register of said town prepared for such Special Election, or such voter registers as hereinafter provided. The Town Board of Registration shall prepare a Register for said Special Election, which Register shall include all voters registered with the County Board of Elections under the provisions of Article 5 of the Election Law. Any registered voter whose name appears on such register need not register again for such Special Election.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN, that the Town Board of Registration will meet on August 7, 2010, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall located at 1416 County Route 7, Ancram, New York, at which time qualified electors may present themselves personally for registration to have their names added to such register for such Special Election.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN, that absentee ballots for qualified electors and registered voters whose name appears on the Registration List, may be applied for at the office of the Town Clerk, 1416 County Route 7, Ancram, New York 12502. Applications for absentee ballots must be received at least seven (7) days before such Special Election, if the ballot is to be mailed to the qualified elector or voter, or on the day before such Special Election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the qualified elector or voter or his or her agent. A list of persons to whom absentee ballots have been issued will be available for inspection in the Town Clerk’s office during each of the five days prior to the date of election, except Sundays.

ZBA Public Hearing – 6/15/2010
There will be a public meeting and hearing at 7pm on June 15, 2010, at the Town Hall, 1416 County Route 7. Under consideration is a continuation of the public hearing on an application by Michael Gershon represented by Hudson Valley Wind Energy, LLC, for a special use permit in order to erect two 111’ wind turbines on Mr. Gershon’s property at 143 Carson Road. In addition, the applicant is seeking an area variance to site the wind turbines closer to the property lines than is permitted by the Town’s zoning regulations. All persons wishing to comment on the application will have an opportunity to do so. Abutting property owners are Joseph Crocco, Herbert VonCalio, Anne Holler, Joseph Amato, Armando D’Aston, John Pulver, Jonathan Meigs, and Rafal and Beata Graczkowski.
Public Notice – Resolution Number 12 of 2011
At its regular Town Board meeting on 3/17/2010 the Ancram Town Board passed the following resolution concerning the acquisition of .65 acres of land adjacent to the Town Garage and the granting of a right of way and easement over town land: Resolution number 12 of 2011: Subject to legal review and any requirements of Town Law, it is resolved that the Town Supervisor is authorized to accept the conveyance from Tucked in Farm LLC of .65 acres of land adjacent to the town garage which is described on a map done by surveyor Lynden Chase and filed with Columbia county as Filed Map number 162-10, and it is further resolved, subject to legal review, a permissive referendum if a petition requesting one is presented to the Town Clerk within 30 days of this resolution’s passing, and any other requirements of Town Law, that the Town Supervisor be authorized to enter into an agreement to grant to Dan Slott a right of way across the town garage lands to access the abandoned railroad bed, and an easement over the abandoned railroad parcel owned by the Town of Ancram for the purpose of doing maintenance to maintain the unrestricted flow of water under the trestle/culvert on the railroad bed parcel. Petitions requesting that the proposed grant of a right of way and easement over town land be subject to a permissive referendum are due to the Town Clerk within 30 days of the resolution having been past, or no later than April 16, 2011.
