PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town of Ancram Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

 

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the public hearing will be a hybrid public hearing accessible both in-person and via Zoom. The public hearing will take place at the aforementioned date and time: (1) at an in-person meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals to be held at the Ancram Town Hall, located at 1416 County Route 7 Ancram, New York 12502; and (2) at the same date and time via Zoom. (Zoom access information below). Verbal comments may be offered to the Zoning Board of Appeals by the public via the Zoom access.

 

Under consideration by the Zoning Board of Appeals are two Area Variance applications in the Town of Ancram bearing the Tax Parcel IDs: 196.-1-5.112 and 196.-1-48. The parcel is owned by Dawning Farm LLC. The parcel is located at 1095 County Route 27A Ancram, NY, 12502.

 

The Applicant seeks an area variance of 95 feet from the 150 foot buffer from all streams in Article V (A) (3) (c) (1) in the Town of Ancram Zoning Law. The Applicant seeks to construct a driveway within the buffer.

Zoning Board of Appeals Second Alternate

The Ancram Town Board seeks applicants who are residents of the Town of Ancram to serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals as the second alternate member.

The Ancram Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meets on the last Monday of each month on an “as needed” basis.”

The ZBA has the authority to hear and decide appeals from decisions of Town officials charged with the enforcement of the zoning ordinances of the Town, to interpret the zoning ordinances and to grant Area and Use Variances, as well as add stipulations to such variances.

The term of office is five years.

All ZBA member training and other requirements also apply to alternate members.

As the second alternate, you will attend all ZBA meetings, and you may participate in ZBA deliberations, but may not vote unless a regular ZBA member and the first alternate are unable to serve because of conflicts of interest requiring their recusal.

As the second alternate, you will be given preferential consideration for appointment to the ZBA as a regular member in the event of ZBA member resignations requiring both the first and second alternates to be appointed to the ZBA.

To be considered for an appointment as the second alternate, please send your resume and an email outlining your background and interest in serving to Ancram Town Supervisor Art Bassin at abassin@ancramny.org no later than Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Applicants will be interviewed by members of the ZBA, which will recommend a candidate for appointment by the Ancram Town Board.

Planning Board seeks Alternate Members

Ancram Planning Board seeks Alternate Members

The Town of Ancram seeks applicants to serve on the Ancram Planning Board as alternate members.

The term of office is five years.

 All board member training and other requirements apply to alternate members.

Candidates with an agricultural background will be given preference for appointment as an alternate member of the Planning Board.

Applicants with land use planning experience, familiarity with site plans, engineering and architectural drawings and scales, the construction industry, or the construction design profession, will also be given preference.

As an alternate, you will attend all Planning Board meetings, which are held on the first Thursday of each month, and you may participate in Planning Board deliberations, but may not vote unless you are designated to replace a regular Planning Board member because of conflicts of interest requiring their recusal.

As an alternate, you may be given preferential consideration for appointment to the Planning Board as a regular member in the event of Planning Board member resignations.

To be considered for an appointment as an alternate, please send your resume and an email outlining your background and experience in agriculture, land use planning and zoning to Ancram Town Supervisor Art Bassin at abassin@ancramny.org.

Technology Committee is looking for people to run Zoom meetings for Town meetings

Date of Public Notice Event: April 19, 2023

The Ancram Technology Committee is looking for people to run Zoom meetings for Town of Ancram public meetings.

This is a paid position – $22.05 per hour.

The position involves:

Setting up the Owl camera and video monitor, running the interactive Zoom for the meeting and at the conclusion of the meeting, breaking down the equipment and posting the finalized video to Google drive.

We will train anyone who is interested.

Familiarity with the following is a plus but not essential:

Zoom

Mac OS

Photoshop or other image processing program

Google platform

YouTube studio

Availability

Town Zoom meetings are normally the first and third Thursday nights from 6.45 to whenever the meetings end (typically 2 hours) and occasional other days or evenings.
